DIY Coffin Pockets

Make gloomy stocking stuffers, tiny jewelry bags or even bookmarks.

Hey Fab Bats!

Looking for a last minute Christmas present? Forget the moldy fruitcake, let’s make stuff! This craft takes less than ten minutes and is also great for stuffing jewelry or messages in. Surprise your favorite freaks and fanged fam with a couple of these:

Supplies:

  • colored felt (I like a black, white and red combo)
  • white and black chalk or pencils
  • scissors
  • glue
  • a ruler

Step 1: Trace a 10x5cm rectangle on a piece of felt and draw your coffin within the rectangle. For more coffin drawing help, visit here.

Step 2: Once you have your coffin, cut out and use to stencil out the next one.

Step 3: You should have two six-sided coffins. Glue three lower edges (edges only) of both coffins together to make pocket. Leave top part open.

Step 4: Use another felt color to cut out a cross, then glue onto coffin. Let dry. Tip: set under a pile of books or heavy object for best effect.

Step 5: Voilà! Use first coffin as stencil for others. Write a little message, hide in coffin and give as a gift!
